Questions about buying a business.

What does a business acquisition advisor do?

A buy-side advisor helps a buyer define acquisition criteria, source and screen businesses, and coordinate the acquisition process. Discreet Acquisitions works on the buyer’s search mandate; legal advice, financial diligence and lending decisions remain with the buyer’s appointed specialists.

How do you find off-market businesses for sale?

An off-market search starts with a target list built around your industry, geography and acquisition criteria. Relevant owners can then be approached confidentially to explore whether they would consider a sale. A target is not an available business for sale until the owner expresses interest, and off-market sourcing does not guarantee exclusivity or a lower price.

Can I use BizBuySell or BusinessesForSale.com alongside an advisor?

Yes. Listing marketplaces can be one source of potential acquisitions alongside broker relationships and direct owner outreach. A managed search adds screening against your buy box and coordination as you investigate a business. Discreet Acquisitions is independent of BizBuySell and BusinessesForSale.com.

What should I check before buying a cash-flowing business?

Start with the source and consistency of earnings, customer concentration, owner responsibilities, working-capital needs and capital expenditure. Reported profit alone does not establish cash available to a buyer after debt service and reinvestment. Use qualified advisers to assess the financial, legal and operational evidence before committing.

What is a buy box?

Your buy box is the written definition of the business you want to acquire: industry, location, earnings, price, operating requirements, and exclusions. It gives the search a clear focus.

What does the managed search include?

Buy-box development, targeted sourcing, preliminary screening, a weekly pipeline review, and coordination with your chosen advisers as you advance opportunities. The exact scope is agreed in writing.

How are advisory fees structured?

A paid mandate uses a retainer plus an agreed success fee. The written agreement sets out the scope, fee trigger, and any retainer credit before work starts. Preparing this brief and the initial Buy Box Audit are free.

Can you guarantee an acquisition or financing?

No. A transaction depends on the seller, your decisions, diligence, and financing. We commit to the agreed search process and reporting. Your lender and professional advisers make their own assessments.

PRIVACY

Your information.

The buy-box builder prepares your brief in your browser. When you submit, your name, email, cell number and acquisition criteria are sent through FormSubmit to info@discreetacquisitions.com so we can respond to your enquiry. Entries are not saved in browser storage. Refreshing clears the page but does not withdraw a submission already sent.

Downloading or copying your brief creates a copy under your control. The video connects to YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player only when you press play. YouTube may process playback data under its own privacy policy.

Selecting a booking link loads Calendly. Details you enter there are processed by Calendly and shared with the meeting organizer for scheduling. Your buy-box brief is sent separately when you submit the form; it is not transferred into Calendly.
